Welcome to the Macias-Muñoz lab website!

The Macias-Muñoz lab is part of the Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Department at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Our lab is interested in understanding the molecular underpinnings of complex trait evolution. Our research lies at the intersection of molecular biology, functional genomics, and evolution. We use  genomics and transcriptomics in invertebrates to determine the similarities and differences in genes encoding similar traits across taxa.
